Kendra Katz was lucky enough to find her passion at the age of 8, when she took her first belly dance class. She spent most of her teenage years in the dance studio, extensively studying belly dance, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, classical ballroom and salsa. In 1999, she became the youngest dancer ever to be accepted into the Suhaila Dance Company. By age 18, she was assistant director of the Suhaila Dance Company and of Bal Anat, as well as a principal teacher in the Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance. Kendra toured with Suhaila regularly, teaching and performing throughout the Americas.
Lately, she has been studying and performing with today’s West Coast Tribal Fusion scene – most notably with Zoe Jakes, Mira Betz, and Sharon Kihara. Professionally, she is member of Zoe Jakes’ Coven Dance Company.
Kendra teaches classes in Berkeley, California, as well as workshops in the US and abroad. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with a specialization in Corrective Exercise.
